Arsenal fell to a 1-0 defeat against Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final at the Emirates Stadium. The Gunners created several good chances but failed to convert, leaving themselves with work to do in the return leg.
Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard both came close to scoring, but their efforts were either off target or denied by PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma. Despite dominating spells, Arsenal couldn’t find the cutting edge in front of goal.
PSG, on the other hand, were clinical when it mattered. A quick, well-executed attack led to the only goal of the game, showing their experience and quality in tight European contests.
Mikel Arteta’s side looked sharp in moments, but lacked composure in key areas. While the defence held up well overall, Arsenal will need to be more decisive in the final third to turn the tie around in Paris.
The second leg remains finely poised. Arsenal must score at least once to stay in the tie and will need a strong attacking display to keep their Champions League dream alive.
